St John Chrysostom (c. 347 - 407), Archbishop of Constantinople, is honoured as one of the four great Greek doctors (teachers) of the Church. He was also renowned for the clarity and zeal of his speaking, which earned him the nickname Chrysostom - Golden Mouth.
His influence has extended to churches both of the East and of the West.
This website is an introduction to his influence upon the Anglican church. This influence undoubtedly began with the introduction into the earliest Anglican prayer books of a prayer entitled 'A Prayer of St Chrysostom'.
The website is published by St Chrysostom's Church, Manchester. It is a web version of a printed book currently in preparation (see publications page).
